Well last night was amazing, as it was the stanley cup finals for 2008/2009 season in NHL 08/XBOX360. The Vancouver Canucks were going into the finals as the favorite as they were reining champs, but the competiton was better than ever:

First round:

Nucks Vs BlueJackets

Lucky that i drew this team in the first round as they were abit of a push over. They did have the rookie of the year in goal that keep them in the first couple of games, but in the end it was a sweep in 4 games

Second round:

Nucks Vs RedWings:

Well this was a bit trickier as they are a damn good team, so this series was a sim, which means I played maybe 2 games. Zetterburg was a dominate force but could not compete with the goalie shaolin styles of newly acquired Marty Turco.

Third Round:

Nucks Vs Ducks

Talk about one of the most classic battles in hockey. This was a sim series again but what a one to watch. I believe there was 6 games that were one goal a piece. Once again the nucks prevail with the 30 million due lar triad line (davio macnesa/mathias feistburg/dan goodwin). Next stop the Stanley Cup finals.

Round Four

Nucks Vs Flyers

I was a bit suprized to see the flyers in the finals as I thought they were a no good team, turns out I was wrong. I wanted to win this fucker before I had to go to bed so i simmed some games. Game 1 flyers, Games 2 flyers, Game 3 nucks Game 4 nucks, Game 5 flyers, Game 6 nucks. So it came down to Game 7 in vancity and I stopped the sim and played. It was a battle but in the end, the Triad was the force that kept the nucks in it and won the game.

On a sad note it seems that Trevor “Clutch” Linden retired after the 2009 season, we will miss you lindy, we will miss you
